Looking for 2 nights in November, I went to book at the Kras, but at
over 200euro a night without breakfast, I dont think I'll bother them
    with my presence.

    Any other hotels worth considering?

I've always tended to stay away from Amsterdam on any trips, as although
the beer/wine and nights are good, the 2 hotels I've stayed in there
have been pretty dire, and not cheap, so dont really want to end up in
somewhere that also houses illegal immigrants as a sideline (which did
    happen once).

So, anything that isnt too expensive, but is clean would be good.

Er, no, these people were arguing and shouting for most of the night as
well as banging on various doors. It turns out that half the hotel was
for asylum seekers, who were mainly from Iran/Iraq, and it was well
known in the neighourhood that it wasnt a good place to stay, even
though it had got good reviews on various websites.
    How TF is that racist?
If wanting a good nights sleep is racist, then, yes, I must be then.

so, they weren't illegal then? Awaiting due process and as entitled as
you to a bed in a hotel?

You could've had the same experience in a Novotel full of teenagers
    attending an inter-schools soccer tournament.

    Hunt around for Kras deals.

But otherwise the Ibis is ideally placed

If you google this NG I've given other recommendations in the past though
TBF I've not been a regular visitor for nearly 2 years.

It's a small point, but it's long past time that the term Asylum Seeker and
our commitments to said were reviewed by the ClegEron Elite

  10. Because you used 'illegal immigrants' and now 'asylum seekers' to
denigrate the people. Wessie pointed out that you'd have been as likely
to be disturbed by a group of schoolchildren; the fact they were not
Dutch is irrelevant, the fact they are noisy bastards was relevant.
