Anyone see that **** on the news tonight waffling on about the pilot
involved in the "friendly fire" thing? He's a neighbour of aid pilot.

Full of "You guys (that's us) need to get off your arses and get involved in
the war" (Oddly, I expected that) and "We saved your asses in WWII" and "We
don't need your help, just your cooperation" but ending with "Our pilot is
    an American hero".

It's a fucking good job I wasn't the reporter interviewing him or he'd have
puke running all down his plaid shirt. The ****.

To hear it makes your skin crawl, idiots in charge of ultimate
    machines.

I blame the lack of quality training.

  4. As I said before, the saying is "Slow plane, slow brain" A10 pilots are
    well know for it.

  7. No, of course not. I think you have much to contribute - as do many others.
But there's reasoned argument, and there's the "I am an expert who knows far
more than you ever could" school. You do not need to have directly
experienced a thing to be able to discuss it or have an informed opinion,
    hm?

"So there I was, sitting in this shitty city in Italy called Sitges,
eating a yummy Big Mac, when this big, twin-engined plane (I think it
was a Lockheed 747) flew *right* over my head".

    Like that you mean?

  9. Then share it. Seriously. Like Bear, I'd be very interested in what you've

So can we attribute all the **** ups to poor training?

I worked for several years with the USMC and USAF and whilst I didn't deal
with their top brass, therefore can't comment on their attitudes, I can
categorically state that the guys on the ground did consider themselves
above everything and better than anyone. The USMC in particular were
scarily gung ho, both in attitude and actions. This probably accounted for
the 7 EOD they lost in the submunition grid shortly before one of our trips
    out there.
