AMA - DMG What a mess

Just got off the Superbike planet website and the Daytona results are
STILL PROVISIONAL. Makes me wonder how long it will take to sort out
ALL of the messes and actually be somewhere near ready to publish a
result that the racers and teams can then complain about and protest
    OFFICIALLY.

The AMA was never a well oiled machine or could be called perfect.
Hopefully the new staff, new nightime Daytona format and rulebook
issues will sort themselves out quickly because this is a trainwreck
that is getting worse all the time.

Red flag stoppages in the pits seem pretty cool now compared to pace
car syncronization with racers who have no on-board communication.
Nascar at least can communicate with the drivers. I am sure that DMG
is licking their wounds right now and realizing that some ideas work
awesome but one missing piece makes it all a fiasco. Riders aren't
happy. Teams aren't happy. Sponsors are confused. They spent how
much to see their guy finish where? "But he was ahead of...."
"Didn't they have that timing box on the bike?"

Considering the American economic climate in conjunction with the rest
of the world I hope the situation with AMA - DMG motorcycle racing can
be sorted before every last sponsor walks away. It is far easier to
keep a sponsor and keep the money flowing than it is to pass the
countless board meetings of approvals to get the money allocated. I
honestly think that the house of cards could collapse completely and
there be no American championship in the very near future. We all
know it would re-imerge but remember that the USGP disappeared for how
long? Even King Kenny couldn't keep it afloat.

DMG is handing sponsors every reason to pull funding and justify
reducing expenitures. I hope I am exagerating the situation but at
the very least are the manufacturers digging through the trash to find
the details of the series they proposed to run themselves?
