Where can I get some? I want to make a bracket to hold my mp3 player
    in the car.

    Best I've come across so far is 6 quid for 1.2mm x 200mm x 300mm x 5
sheets from RS online. Although they want 5 quid postage.

Ah. My local scrapyard's probably not a great deal of use to you then.
Have a gander in Yellow Pages and see if you can find one, then pay a
visit. If you're *very* lucky it'll be one of the old-fashioned kind
that'll let you have a rummage.

    Probably not.
Good plan but are they really likely to be cheaper than a fiver?

Probably, and almost certainly cheaper than 11 quid (inc P&P)

Worth a look then as I'm likely to waste a lot whilst
    bodg^H^H^H^Hexperimenting.

Where are you, Nigel? I want a piece of sheet cut into a circle for
    exchange in beer vouchers.

North Herts, near Hitchin. What size circle? And no beer vouchers
    necessary.

Prox 3" The idea is that my PDA mount has a suction cup base. That's
fine, but it won't stick to the fake leather of the dahs in my cars. It
came with one plastic disc to be stuck on a dash, but that is now
*permanently* affixed in one of my cars. I now need the PDA hodler in
    another.
    You get the idea.
I'll measure it tomorrow if that's cool. Anything smooth and rigid should
    be fine

    Cheers

    Don't think that would work...

Very nice and all, interesting catalogue - but they don't appear to
    sell sheet metal.

  15. which reminds me to look in the boot of my car. Andy's brother needs a
new exhaust bracket and I *think* I found a bit more stainless when I
cleared the house out but if not can I pinch a bit back?
