I have a friend at work who has the misfortune to be hassled by a former colleague-a
tiresome person who thinks its funny to set up bogus adverts for flats for rental and then
proceeds to hand out other people`s personal mobile numbers as the contact number for any
enquiries regarding said flat (which is 250 miles from where I live and probably doesn`t
exist). He also keeps pestering me with emails, with inane requests, which so far I have
ignored. I want to know if there is anyway to `flood` his bogus Yahoo account, or some
other such revenge, temporarily? Or any suggestions for other recourse??

    TIA

It's probably a criminal offence I would suspect. Certainly handing out
somebody elses phone number in this way is not on.

If it gets serious I'd probably consider calling the Police.

    "`flood` his bogus Yahoo account"

What would be the point of that?

I dunno; some sort of perverse pleasure at causing him grief & him not knowing what

Still, I suppose thats sinking to his level, really.. Only problem is to go down the road
of police, etc, we would need proof it was actually him putting this ad in the paper & as
the ads are in Reading & I`m in Chester, its gonna be a bit hard to do...
I DID ask for any other suggestions, but other than ignore him, I reckon there`s not much
    we can satisfactorily do...

Shit in a ziplock. Let it fester. Send it in a well sealed box to his home
address. Hope the build up of pressure is timed just right so it explodes
at around the time he opens the box.

    No?

Put an ad in Private Eye using *his* number address along the lines of
"Transsexual needs funds for rest of operation, anything considered".

    No?

Order shite catalogues in his name from all those twats who advertise in the
    Sunday tabloids.

    Or kill him.

Definitely thinking about tit-for-tat with the newspaper ads (juvenile as it is..) and I`m
certainly going to be making sure he (and his missus) start receiving lots of interesting

their once-in-a-lifetimeoffer of heated slippers, etc, etc

Right I`m off to bed, hopefully I will have calmed down by the morning..Cheers, all.

  10. It doesn't really work. Yahoo has a "bulk folder" facility and most spam
gets automatically shoved in there, and doesn't count towards the memory
    limit.

That said, there are sites where you can sign someone up to a few
hundred spam providers at once, with one click of a mouse button.

Large jpeg attachments work quite well as account blockers, though you
have the hassle of sending them yourself.

It's great, isn't it. I used it two successive threads: this one, and
in response to a pathetic plea from DP who apparently has had someone
say nasty things on the internet. Imagine!

I might try to get it in to every thread on my swerver today.

I prefer "Get a fucking grip", but life's good too.

On a completely different tack. I just got a phone call from
my brother. He's just returned from a trip to Slater Brothers.
Bought a mint all original 180 Jota (in Orange). I'm a bit
gobsmaked TBH, the last bike he had was a KLR600 (kickstart
model) back when they first came out. Can't wait to get a
    lend of it.

If its a bogus account then he wont get them and it will cause him no hassle
    at all surely?

Have a look on your favorite P2P app and download a mailbomber, find an open
relay SMTP server to use and then send him 5,000,000 emails a day through
    it.

Right up until your ISP closes your account!

If you know his address then order loads of pizza/ skips/ trials in stuff/
double glazing/ kitchens etc etc, until he is very sorry. Dont do this from
    your own phone.

Get a load of big stroppy blokes together and pay him a visit.

    Shit through his letter box.

Ask him nicely to stop doing it, or you will report him.

    Um, out of ideas now.
