He was a bit wearisome after his 3rd attempt to go on holiday, so
thought he'd have a quiet day.

He bought a Gixxer Thou specially for the occasion. No point taking a
knife to a gun fight.

I was riding a naked bike with horribly squared off tyres so I was
lucky to be in the same country.

It's not as good as the tired old "you know the road better than I do"
excuse or the best of the lot "I was worried that if I overtook you
you'd feel the urge to ride even more stupidly and force your way back
past". Both of those were used by posters to this group when they were
left examining the arse end of a BMWK100RS.

 

I think the latter's a fair point, having seen that car slam the
anchors on after I overtook you & that coach, & you decided to follow
me through.

Plus Champ did say if I overtook him, it'd be outright war, which
probably wouldn't have been A Good Thing...

 

<g> I'm the reverse. I'll sometimes wave riders past, as I did on one
occasion last week with ogden, so I'm not tempted to try and keep up
with them.
