Almost suicidal

  1. Hasn't stopped raining since early December.

Can't even get out to the shed.

    It's like living in Wales.

I came to sunny Spain to get away from the rain.

    Depressed.

And you're not even old enough to qualify for the winter fuel payments.

Still, could be worse, you could be in Aylesbury.

  8. Not sure if such a thing exists, but it's not cold anyway - just wet.
    Indeed.

I was just commenting how the recent very cold weather has made the
usual 4 months of overcast drizzle disappear. We've had some very nice
days in the East of Scotland.
You really should have gone to a proper hot country with really cheap
quality living, like Vietnam or Chile.

One needs rain for the garden and stuff and to keep the roads clean. When
the rain is predictable, falls mostly at night, is 20c and comes with
special lighting effects, it's mostly a good thing.

OTOH it's a feckin long way to find snow.

  19. If the article I read recently is right, you have to be in the UK
when you turn 60 to qualify for the winter fuel payments, but after that
you can take it overseas with you. I may be wrong, but I don't think
SmallDick WibbleyPants was 60 when he left for Spain.

  20. A quick addition get a bit over 2 m -- that's 80" or so. Byron Bay
averages 100", and we don't even have a monsoon...

...rain depressions from aged cyclones, and thunderstorms: yes.
