I'd always thought Sabine Schmitz was late 20s or early 30s... she's 41.

So she hates jews - even more reason to like her then.

The Germans are the modern descendants of Amalek and recent history has
again shown the disastrous results of failing to obey the commandment to
exterminate them, their cattle and all of their possessions.

How come the all powerful sky-fairy didn't destroy them himself?

Did they have chariots of iron, too?

The problem is that the local government (IIRC the track is at least
part-owned by the local government) is unwilling/unable to put money
    into the track, too.

However whoever thought that putting up a shopping mall and an amusement
park there was a good idea must've been smoking something, and it wasn't
    tobacco.

Does make you wonder how long until someone suggest selling part of it
off for a housing development or something, then the residents
    complaining about the noise...

From what I can tell, the track doesn't need investment, all the money
was being spent on 'tourist attractions'.

Well, people have been complaining about the amenities at the track
IIRC. I just don't think the tourist attraction part was that smart
    anyway.

Of course the joke is that the track was originally built to attract
investment and visitors into this rather remote area...

British tourists, attracted by the Top Gear hype, perhaps?
What would save the place, IMHO, is for them to sort some way for
foreign drivers to legally drive the 'Ring in their own cars / ride it
    on their own bikes.

I'd love to go there - but you are effectively driving on a public road
without insurance if you do, so haven't done it yet. How many others are
being kept away because of the insurance implications?

That would be the last of my worries. I can't think of anyone else
who'd be bothered by such a thing. I'll bet you're quite happy to take
your car on a British racetrack for a trackday without being insured,
    so what's the fucking difference?

There are huge numbers of people who drive the Ring with UK registered
vehicles and I'll bet none of them were bothered either.

Track days are very different - and a Nurburgring track day would
appeal, aside from the cost of it.

On a track day, the organiser has insured against damage to the fabric
of the circuit, and if you hit someone else, there is no claim against
    you.

On a 'Ring public day, if you, for example, take out a biker and go on
to flatten 100 metres of armco, closing the circuit down for a few hours
whilst they clear it up, you could personally be facing a bill for tens
of thousands from the 'Ring plus hundreds of thousands, if not millions,
    for wiping out the biker.

Driving the 'Ring on a tourist day, for a UK driver, is even more of a
risk than driving around in the UK without insurance.
