  3. There's also the 40-70 doctrine: when you have between 40% and 70% of
the information, make a decision. Less than 40 and you don't know
what you're dealing with; more than 70 means waiting too long.

  4. that's a thing I enjoyed about working with the military in combat
environments: people would and did make decisions. exhilarating.

You can get in from the west as well, as long as you avoid the circuit
    itself:
    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&s...50.058957,4.294453&spn=0.021711,0.063601&z=14

That roundabout at the south-west corner of the circuit /might/ be
restricted; I can't remember. Easily avoided by taking the earlier turn
off Rue de Plate Pierre, then following your nose into the centre.

Don't panic, metcheck still looks slightly more optimistic:

I'm not sure where how they calculate their rain totals, mind. Adding up
Saturday's rainfall from that page gives 0.69mm, but the detailed
forecast for Saturday has 9.3mm between 02:00 and 05:00 alone. Nice.

This weekend, I will be mostly wearing a Goretex jacket, Goretex
trousers, Goretex gloves, Sheltex boots and Sealskinz socks.

    **** you, mother nature!

It's rained heavily on the vast majority of the TOG Tours I've been on,
but I can't ever remember seeing a thread beforehand of so much "I'm
not going if it's raining" whingeing. And I do realise that camping is
a whole different kettle of haddock!

If it's still pissing down when you get there, just hole up in a bar
and get pissed. What's the problem?

I've had worse. Much worse. They're a bunch of whinging girls blouses.

Well, exactly. It can occasionally be a bit damp getting *to* the beer
tent, but as far as I know it's never rained *inside* it.

Don't take any notice of any of them, they're just guessing. Even the
might of the F1 weather circus couldn't get it right at the weekend, &
they were only trying to forecast a few hours in advance. The forecasts
here have been completely wrong pretty much since the 'heatwave'
    finished.

it's the camping bit that's the problem. Plus, if it's pishing down,
the "watching racing" bit will also be shit, because I'm fucked if I'm
standing around in the rain to watch bikes go around and around.
nothing, if you're prepared to kid yourself that pitching a tent in
    the pissing rain is "fun".

I've been in a beer tent with a leaky roof before, so take a hat or an
    umbrella.
