There'd better be a lot of TZs on that start grid.

P+O ferry on Friday morning, returning Sunday evening. My nephew who
lives in Dover and works for P+O got me staff discount.

go and talk to the Catholics.

I think the majority of us are going over on the Thursday evening and
stopping at La Coquelles so we can drink beer and still be away from
Calais at a decent time on the Friday morning.

It's not a long way to Chimay but it's worth getting there quite early
to get a decent camping spot and then get to the supermarket for
    supplies.

  5. My mate Rob and I are on the Tunnel, early Friday morning, aiming to get
    to the circuit around midday.

  6. What are you taking? The Versys or the SpazzTrakka? I'd venture to say
the SpazzT is a Chimay bike par excellence.

  7. I still haven't forgotten the year we dialled Lozzo on somebody's
mobile, and held the handset towards the grid where 40-odd strokers were
warming up. Small squeaking noises came out of the phone, and I swear I
    saw dribble.

Heh. I remember that one. It was a rather pretty could of two-smoke oil
    on the starting line, too.

I toyed with taking the SpazzTrakka, but have booked the Versys on the
ferry - after all, this kind of trip is exactly why I bought the thing
in the first place. It's too slow as it cruises at only 60mph. Also the
MOT and tax have run out on the Trakka and I didn't bother to insure it
this year either. I'll sort those out in the near future.

The other SR250 I own has been out on loan to a mate from Northampton
for the past few months, it's running sweet as a nut.

Erm yes indeed, I have the Ibis booked. Deffo worth getting a decent camping
spot on flat ground near to the bridge for easy access to the bogs and
    shower block?

I know the ferry is half the 50squid ferry fare is half that of the tunnel.
Said tunnel saves 20 miles of that poxy road and a shed load of faffing
    though. Tough call.

I really wish I could take the Outfit attached to the R100 but I doubt I can
change it with one pair of hands.

It's traditional we go to the badlands near the back of the field
    where we were last year.

Me and the F-i-L will be just behind you: mid-morning Tunnel, Chimay
    mid-afternoon.

We'll be stocking up with supplies en-route. What's the plan for food:
eat in the town on Friday, half-cooked lumps of horse meat in the field
    on Saturday?

  14. No plan AFAIK, and the exchange rate makes eating out pricer than of
yore. We're bringing a couple of disposable BBQs each.

    Good point.
Hmmm... I might chuck the gas-powered grill in, if it'll get used for
two nights. Makes life much easier for making coffee in the morning, too.

Lack of weekend Tuits is alway6s the issue. Tonight I shall purchase a
decent measuring tape and compare the R65 and R100 frames. If i can
leave everything rigid on the chair and just unclamp from one bike to
the other then it is possible. But I then need to order RT cables and
change the bars too. A tall order.

You shouldn't need to change the bars. The K100 was fine with the standard
bars, just a little heavy in tight, low-speed situations.

The R65 outfit is "just so".
I expect my work to fit MX Renthals was part of said ease of handling!

I'm all booked up now, for the Ibis and the Eurotunnel.

Just need a fucking suitable bike. Worst comes to worst, I'll do it on
    the fucking KTM.
