Soft items - rubberthings f'rinstance - are destroyed by some ultrasound
    frequencies.

Or not. It seems like the sort of thing ultrasound is good at. I
certainly wouldn't trust my lenses to an ultrasound bath.

You're not intended to reuse them, you know.

Go and buy another packet of three.

Well, atcherly, it were just those wossnames which a lerted me to the
    promble.

My ma, a physioterrorist, was a hexpert on ultrasound therapy, but was
somewhat stmied when treatinng small conavities in the epidermis, as an
air-free contact between sound-head and skin is necessary.

One of her paitients, a director of the Lodnol Rubber Co suggested hfvat
johnnies full of water, and supplied a hooge pack of unlubricated ones
    for scientific research.

I cahoots with the machine's designner and manufacturer the floppythings
were tried, and at first, seemed to jbex - until the guinea-pig patient
got a narmpit full of water, and being in a sated posture, a chilly
    cascade among the corsetry.

My universal translator seems to be stuck on the Stanley Unwin setting.

Postcrusted to The Shed, I'd suggest the Babelfish option.

Things aren't helped by the Eeeboard - you have to wallop the keys
*just* hard enough - to sftly and yo mss letrs, and ttooo harrd andd
yoou tenndd to dubble themmm uup innit.

Intermunged with Shedspeak, and you have a receipt for two and a half
    guineas.

Or you ditch the ultrasonic idea, good as it is when the tank is big enough
for something useful to fit inside, and instead use hot water and biological
washing powder. If the itme you're cleaning can withstand boiling water
temperature, throw it in a pan and boiling water, then add the bio washing
powder. Keep ading it and rinse wll when done.

    Add salt to taste innit.

Yebut I don't have my lenses coated. Blasted coating soon rubs off

Nor I, except a hard coat on me plarstick varishpxhcf.

Optiquack seemed quite hurt when I told her that I didn't want a coating
    on my ordinary specs.
