He gets them for what I said, based on his buying levels (v low).

He has said that if you can order 10,000 at once (like Boots / Specsavers)
then they'll offer you a further discount, something like 50%.

He is stuffed as he's only a small volume place.

Can't remember all the details of the catalogs / price lists, I was flicking
through them and talking to him as we were waiting for his stupid PC to back
itself up before I took it away to fix it.

I'd still much rather get glasses made someplace like his and pay the extra
Whereas I'd rather get the quality without paying the extra

It's just occurred to me that these Aldi-cleaner-ruining spectacle lens
threads seem to start earlier and earlier each year.

There are two dots in the lens about an inch apart along the centre line
of the lens
Yerrrrsss..?

Frames normally aren't vertically centered on your eyeball (or horizontally
for that matter) so they have to account for that when grinding the lenses to
fit the frames, the optical center is rarely in the center of the frame.

Where did you get them?

My lenses alone cost more than that..,

My eye have differing degrees of short-sightedness, but usually, I find
it easier to take my glasses off to read.

So true.

You would think though that when the manager looks though the end of month
reports they'd twig something needed to be done.

Although I've come across a couple of managers who think the customer is
purely an inconvenience to be avoided at all costs.
That was nice of em :)

My last purchase, back in May was 1 x pair rimless specs + 1 x pair of
prescription Oakleys: £585

Hmmm if you want titanium Flexon frames and the best thin/light varifocal
Nikon lenses wiv all the coatings, one pair will cost you over £400 form a
decent optician.

My ex passes on her 40% staff discount, thankfully.

Bearing in mind that in fact, both pairs are rimless, so all I got in
actuality was four bits of wire and four lenses for that.

The Oakleys are worth every penny of the £300 they cost, mind.

I bought some prescription Oakleys (not sunglasses) a few years back and
they came to something like 380 quid on their own. My current specs cost
me the thick end of 300 after I demolished the previous set falling off
a DR-Z halfway up the side of a volcano.

£585 for both sounds pretty reasonable in comparison.
