another doc appointment this morning, guess i'll find out if i need surgery
or not to rebuild it. damn little bones.

but always having been extremely right handed (it's like me left hand only
was a glorified pirate's hook or something), the switch is being quite the
experience. i'll have to live left-handed for at least a month or so, and
it's interesting to see how after a few days one starts to get a bit less
    clumsy, if far from comfortable.

oh well, it was my own mistake, so it makes it easy to live with the
    consequences for a while...

right now it's a cast for 3 weeks. damn cast has turned my entire right hand
into a stump. this is going to be interesting. it seems i shattered the
metacarpal at the base nicely. the good news is the 4th mc is not very
critical for mobility, dexterity etc. the other good news is the nerves are
intact. it was close to where one of the major nerves is routed, so phew for
now... the bad news is that he says it'll hurt like a mother when they take
the cast of and i do what i need to do to get everything in proper working
    order...

right now, all i can do is live healthy, look at the cast, and hope
    everything is healing well there...
yeah, but i should have seen it coming. it's one of those 4 ways from hell
where people get very desperate to make the turn... and i was riding a
little borrowed mx'er turned supermoto, and paying more attention to having
fun than to things around me. so by the time i had to act, i was nearly on
the car, was braking too hard into trying to swerve around it, lost the
front and landed hard... on my right clenched fist. i missed every other
hard object in my path, though, sliding through a 4 ft space between the car
and the hard curb, albeit not too quickly. gives one goosebumps
nevertheless. praise to arai helmets, draggin' jeans and alpinestars
leatherjacket, gloves and boots, they all got a nice impact test and other
than the metacarpal there was no other damage. the car stopped and the
driver was extremely apologetic - a harley rider, he turned out to be.
called me 3 times to ask how i am doing, and we met for a beer yesterday
with another friend of mine. one makes friends under the oddest
    circumstances... :)
luckily not mine, he is known as a great ortho surgeon, however in my case
he has decided against surgery for now...
