<sigh> Unfortunately not. It's embarrassing enough they run dead last,
but when they're sticking a jag badge on some halfarsed Ford effort that
has never been within bulls roar of coventry and wasting about 50million
pounds that would be way better spent on developing the real jaguars,
it's just criminal. Typical bloody ford, don't even understand the
heritage of the marque they bought - jag should be competing at Le Mans
and the rest of the endurance championship - that's it's history and
that's where the factory engineers could add value. Then they should be
releasing an R version of the Xtype and putting it in the WRC - it's
already AWD, it's already got all the traction stuff - just bring
forward the alloy body model and homologate a souped up spec stripped
for racing - aluminium body, carbon fibre everything else - 50 million
quid would go a bloody long way to making it competitive - and guess
what, it would get the Xtype selling like hotcakes AND be totally in
    line with the heritage <sigh>

  17. John Blackall was talking about some of those things last week. X-type R
has been considered, but has running gear issues, maybe in the next revision
he said (couple of years). One or two of the concept cars for this years
motorshow too, they WILL be there.

    Benz did this.

Run an engine called Ilmore until it starts to win, then change the name to
    Benz

The Ford Cosworth engine was the most successful F1 engine of all time
(Except maybe when they stick it in a Jag).
