Ah well, so much for Blighty then.

  1. Hmm, I've seen that end in tears many a time.

basically if the worst happens next Monday, and I get a ban, I'll be
flogging my road bikes and buying some track bikes - I want something
like the ZX7R that Champ's flogging, but I've always quite fancied an
    RGV too.

I'll let you know at some point - presumably you're leaving the thing
in Aylesbury for the time being?

  4. Definitely agree about the greasy one. The further in advance you book, the
cheaper it gets. But if you leave it to say, a week before travelling, the
price goes up big time. Last week's flight would have cost me twice as much
    with the orange mob.

Personally, I never know what I'm doing that far in advance. Normally book
    about a week up front.

Well, if I did a trackday tomorrow it'd be on my road bike.

I think that what Paul was implying was that even if you're doing a
track day on your road bike, it's best not to ride it to and from the
    track.

  7. Yup. I'm leaving tomorrow, but the wife will be here for a couple more
weeks. She knows how to open the garage door.

  8. Dunno yet. Not this time though. The wife's going to spend a few months
there with me and see if she likes it (Spain, not me). If not, we forget
the idea, rent the spanish house out and get a job on a building site in
    England. Had enough of IT.

I know, but I don't see it as a huge addition to the risk of going round
a track. It's not like doing 1500+ miles in a day or anything.

And if you crash on a track you sort out recovery, again no huge
    problem.

    I thought about x-posting this to es.charla.moteros, as it's been a
while since we've had an 'invasion' to a non-English NG. Then I
    thought better of it :)

Dang, I didn't realise it was so close. Could have dropped by easily.
BTW the entire coastline between Malaga and Estepona appears to have been
turned into a little corner of hell.

Well yes, but not all of us can afford the track bike, trailer, car(!)
    etc... :)

When I binned the SV at Rockingham and snapped off the front brake lever I
must say I did have a bit of a "hmm" moment.
Handily some bloke gave me the one from his wife's (the shame) SV as she
    wasn't riding it home...

it's closer to Belfast than "London Luton" and "London Stanstead" are
    to London.

    I'd wondered about that until my mate splattered his Blackbird at Kyalami;
he called one of the vultures[1] and that was that, some bucks later he was
recovered to home. Cost a few bob-shillings more to patch up the bike mind.

[1] Freelance roadside recovery dudes that hang around in very odd looking
recovery vehicles in South Africa, the term 'vulture' is not an affectionate
    one.
