A mate of mine broke the clutch lever on her 2005 GS500F (Suzuki)
tonight. Remarkably, the Elizabeth St shops were still open (that's
the Sydney Elizabeth St, not the Fannie Bay, NT one) and I've picked
up a replacement lever + a spare brake/clutch lever pair as talismen
(is 'talismen' the plural of 'talisman'?) to ward off future
accidents on the principle that if one has spares hanging on the
wall in the shed, one will never need them.

Now I know that it's routine for parts - particularly 'consumable'
ones like levers - to be common to a number of models, but it would
be nice to be sure that I've bought the right levers before I hand
'em over. She's stressed by the drop already, I don't want to make
    things worse.

    Perhaps all y'all can help?

    For clutch, I have M.C.S. brand, part no LCS11, "GS500E 90-96
    CLUTCH LEVER", bar code 9334437015513

    For brake, I have M.C.S. brand, part no LBK26, "ZX9R 98/
    GSXR750 98 BRAKE LEVER", bar code 0334437013847

I've found line drawings that *look* like the levers I've got:

May I trouble someone 'in the know' to tell me if the levers I've
got will fit the 2005 GS500F

    TIA,

I'll buy you a beer if it doesn't fit

I bought an aftermarket brake lever for a cagiva raptor, it was labelled
(IIRC) R1/Triumph/GSXR/ and 2 other models which I forget but I did
write down somewhere for future reference.

<grin> Fair question, implied but not stated, yes it fit fine.

(Cagiva has a common jap "std" brake lever(as per above) and a
    Ducati/Aprilia/Guzzi common clutch lever)

Yeah, and I'll have to go to Johno for a beer, 'cos the levers I
bought for the GS500F fitted just fine.

When TB won the hard-luck award at the Karuah rally I had to do a dash to
Newcastle on Saturday and I managed to buy a Triumph lever from a BMW dealer
to fit his Suzuki front brake.
