Stopping isn't the current issue, as it won't turn over. There's an
extra battery lead that sweller removed that I haven't figured out where
it goes yet. I think it goes from the +ve battery terminal to
'somewhere'. That's probably why there's a click from the solenoid but
    nothing from the starter motor.

Time to apply for a new one? I don't think I can do it.

  5. I do recall him making his excuses and leaving one sunny mid summer's
evening while we were all enjoying a ukrm drinkypoo at The Local. His
excuse, in part, being that I was there. Astonishing I thought, that I
should have that effect on a day when I presented myself to the world in a
state of relative cleanliness and moderate fragrance. My opinions of
him, such as they are, are based upon incidents such as those.

  6. He is (was??) a genuine wino, properly addicted and all that. Really he
needs treatment for it which sets him apart a little from most of the piss
    heads in these parts.

  9. You must have missed it Des. We upset her last time so much she was here
she won't be coming back again. Hardly surprising really what with that
book she read on lesbian rights turning her head and us all becoming
    rapists.

I've got one more place to look, and if not, I'll look into getting a
new one. Vaguely worried about getting hit for 5 odd years of non-paid
    road-tax, though.

And I think you /can/ do it - else how would anyone ever get one those
semi-mythical "barn finds" taxed? But I'll look into it.

I was drinking with him towards the end of last year - he was fine.

But that trip to the NEC...

No, he doesn't. His usual response when faced with someone who didn't like
him and who was ripping the fucking shit out of him on the group was to
name that person 'a troll'. Anyone else who made that accusation against
someone who quite obviously _wasn't_ 'trolling' would be met with the
ridicule it deserved, but as around two thirds of UKRM had its tongue
firmly planted between his buttocks for much of the decade, well ... you
    see what happened.

If you want a really good example of this, google for 'exador' in UKRM.

I'd rather you hadn't cut out my (1) comment. He isn't *actually* any of
these things, he merely presents an awesome capacity to sink booze if he so
chooses. Without dying. Which you or I would, if we downed a full bottle of
    whisky in one.

I am currently Persona Non Grata it seems, because I consider that the NHS
is a publicly funded clinical service to treat people who are ill, in the
best and most efficient way. Rather than a publicly funded estates manager
and source of employment. And because I'm actively engaged in doing
    something about that.

    Erm .. why ?
I don't think there has been someone who has so very obviously made
everyone else's life a misery because of his own self-hatred. Well, there
was kira. kira, Bullshit Bear and 'Kathryn'. The three most venomous
piles of waste ever to infect UKRM.

It was only a matter of time before someone mentioned it )

It was the first time I met the chap.

    Charlie spoke:
I spent some time alone with him when only he and I had turned up yet at
    Sarrat.

He was pleasant, communicative, generally a good chap and we got on
    fine.

In group company and on here, he was a different person entirely, and
his attitude towards me (and other targets) can best be summed up as
    'two-faced-****"

Odd that. He actually used to post under his real name (together eith
the BB moniker) on here, some years back. So it's hardly a matter of
    state secrecy.

There is one occasional poster who changed his posting name to try and
put a previous persona behind him, but I don't think Bear ever tried
    to do so.

  18. Not at all. I am referring to his inability to drink something more
mundane for breakfast such as low alcohol tea.
**** me, another thing that me and the fascists agree on. I'll be voting
for the BNP if this carries on.

As am I, although my involvement is more akin to post roll out systems
    testing than pre release documentation.

You think libertarians are fascists? whew those prescription meds have

Hah. Child's play. Thursday night I downed, in order, three pints of
strong lager, half a bottle of red, four pints of Guiness, a kebab,
two more pints of lager, then three and a half more bottles of wine
between me and a mate. And I didn't die.

Admittedly, I _felt_ like I'd died on the Friday, but managed to
remain compos-mentis to host a BBQ at our house in the evening.
Although I did refrain from alcohol all night and consumed something
like four litres of fizzy orange instead. Was fine by Saturday night
    though.
