    You know him then Nige?
I've met him once, and he was a nice chap.
AFAIAA, there are others who get on with him fine, though from his posts
(has he been gone for 2 years now?) he could upset many people.
A certain lady says he is the biggest **** on earth.
    Maybe I am wrong?

Hmm, I didnt like to ask when she said that.(that's if we are talking
    about the same lady)

Thinking back, I didnt like the way Bear used to slag off Jackie either.
She's really nice, and there was certainly no need for some of his
    comments about her.

Not everyone - although she may have been too thinned skinned for some
have she may have had some justification for her reaction. Particularly
in relation to some people - but who fucking cares?

Whatever the case is it necessary to take such a sneery tone? It maybe
better to just say nothing and move on.

A matter of opinion. I know who I'd rather have a pint with, and it's
not the bloke who thinks that "Wee, poo, willy, bum" is the height of
    sparkling repartee.

There's another poster on here who thinks it's "clever" to post the real
names of those who use pseudonyms. It makes him look a bit of a sad twat
    too.

Hence the 'just about' in my post.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is ukrm, isn't it? The same
ukrm where a **** is openly called a **** and where some people,
including the 'lady' in question are quite happy to slag others by name
in public? I've stopped short of actually naming her or quoting
specific situations, names or times, so anything fucking goes as far as
    I'm concerned.

Did you meet him when he went to the IoM?

Slagging someone is all very well and good, if you have a good idea
they will be reading it and in a position to reply if they wish. I'll
tell you now, to the best of my knowledge Bear hasn't even read ukrm in
    a very very long time.

Slagging off Bear is so passé. By this point just about everyone's
formed their own opinion of the chap and if anyone still feel the need
to debate it they should probably get out more.

No he doesn't. We had a nice lunch with Bear last year. He might act
the **** occasionally, but there are bigger ones currently on ukrm.

But hold on... UKRM 'is real life', isn't it? So, therefore, someone who
    is a **** on UKRM 'is a ****', full stop. Surely? I mean .. there can't
be like, 'double standards' on UKRM. I refuse to believe that.

Mainly (I suspect) because he was such an obnoxious, prissy, self-obsessed,
immature twat that it was only a matter of time before he either got i) a
well-deserved punch to the face with such force that it drove bone
fragments into his unused and underveloped frontal lobe, or ii) someone
instructed his or her lawyer to prevent the moronic **** from libelling him
with what he obviously assumed was complete impunity.

However, I strongly suspect that Bullshit Bear has been diagnosed with
bipolar disorder, and life can't be easy when you're really, quite really
    and officially, 'mentally ill'.
Dunno. Personally, I can't stand the stupid bastard, but then that's just
my (unjustified, no doubt) resentment that he, as the 'High Priest' of the
Clique, is basically completely responsible for the venom that gets
directed my way even now, in 2011. The only thing that 'irks' me is the
protective way the Clique throws its wing around Bullshit Bear by
safeguarding his identity, whilst at the same time almost creaming in its
collective Y-fronts at the prospect that a completely innocent man would
lose his job and (probably) be barred from teaching ever again, just
because someone didn't like what he posted and was intellectually incapable
of responding any other way than by accusing him of pedophilia.

    But that's just me.

So ****? I don't like my name either (who _would_ [1]?), but that doesn't
prevent its being used when cheap points are required. I recall in an
exchange with Bullshit Bear a few years ago, when I used his first name.
Not his full name (I didn't know it then), but just his first name, and one
of the most common first names in the UK, too. I got, 'you fucking ****'
from several of the Cliq^H^H^Hfriends of 'John'.

[1] my quip at the beginning of each year when it's customary that the
teacher write his name on the board, is 'my parents had a sense of
    humour...'
