  1. SWMBO has given me permission to trade in my 600 hornet to buy new sports
bike (fireblade, r1 Suzuki gsx1000 etc)

After listening to the sales staff I am non the wiser on the best bike on
the marketplace at the moment for me

at 40 plus born again biker slightly large around the waste and vertically
challenged 5' 9'' I need something that is quick , fun and forgiving to
    play on

wont be used for anything other than fun

It must be terrible needing "permission" to do things like that.

Depends on how much of a contribution she's making towards it, really.

It's not half as bad as wanking yourself to sleep alone at night.....

I'll take your word for it, having never been faced with that dilemma.

Yeah, I can see that you've never had a woman offer to contribute
    towards your bike purchases.....

I don't see why I'd need to. I'm glad you found a cure for your sleep
problems though, Katie's obviously far more considerate than I had ever
    imagined...

Although I've not read any of the comparison tests in depth,
I was beginning to get the impression that the ZX-10R and R1
were moving ahead of your chick wheels.
Ah, the plot becomes clearer )

You can't go wrong with any of them. Test ride them all and pick the
    one that looks best.

Be a bit of a change from a 600 Hornet though.

Easier to ride than a 600 sportsbike.

Torque. It'll pull from bugger all revs in any gear pretty much
smoothly. So you don't spend all the time worrying about what gear
you're in, relax, and enjoy the ride.

My GSXR 1000 is slightly easier to ride than my 750 and much much
easier to ride than my old FZR400, ignoring speed.

I thought the usual UKRM mantra was that 600s were girls bikes?

heh, much as I love Suzukis, I'm not that keen on the K3/4 Thou. If I
was buying new now it would be a toss-up between a ZX10R and an R1.
