I've got a maroon one but when I'm fantasising I pretend it's black!

  6. Hey Rod, I'll just jump in here a little late . . .
I own a 2002 model of said Hornet (non adjustable forks), am a little
lighter at 90kg, and found the lack of control from the rear shock lead
to vague steering (something glaringly obvious after my previous
Ducati). Your extra beef certainly wouldn't help in this department.
Soon fixed with an Ohlins shock and resprung front, I am quite happy now
with its handling, I manage to hang with the true sportsbikes and have a
    ball on track days.
If I hadn't put the Ohlins in, I would have flicked it off pretty quick.
I haven't had a chance to ride the XJR or GSX, but have done a few k's
on the CB13, which I would seriously consider if the missus got back
into wanting to go with me.
Here is where we is lucky in kiwiland, the hornet plus ohlins is still
    cheaper than your other options.

    Cheers
    Steve
