Am a 26 Year old, male, living in North London. Passed CBT September
    last Year.

I would really like to get my first scooter this month, but am not
confident with buying via sites such as Gumtree or eBay.

I have a budget of up to £1000 but would like to get a pretty decent
scooter in good condition and where possible with some kind of
    guarantee.

I would be very grateful for some advice and any suggestions as to a
    dealer if possible?

    Many many thanks in advance.
    Kind Regards,

Don't buy Chinese, you get what you pay for. Get a used Honda SH125,
they're quick for a 125 scooter. Also, they've got slightly bigger
wheels, so the ride is better. Dunno about price though. :)

Simple, don't buy a scooter if you live in London - it'll get nicked.
    Besides, scooters are shite.

Yep, I've seen a lot of those Asain imports at crazy prices.

    Many thanks,

Stick to the Japanese stuff, Honda in particular and you'll be ok. I've
got a tweaked Gilera Runner 172 two stroke, which is quick for a
scooter... but if I was given the chance to choose again, I'd go for a
    Honda four stroke scooter.

Naa.. just make sure you check frame and engine numbers before you buy
it. As to where to buy one, I don't know scooter shops in London..
sorry. I just wouldn't buy one in London, not a scooter anyway.
