We're talking 125cc learner bikes here. I'll bet it's easier and quicker
to do the valves on a CG125 than replace the piston on an RS.

Doing the valves on a FZR250 isn't hard, it just takes time. :)

yes. It's definetely expensive as a 125cc, one of the most expensive I
think, for maintenance costs... I've got a limited-11kw version, so I
should by the fullpower kit (300€ fp exhaust system + rave valve &
electronic discharge) to get the 34cv, because the fullpower is no more
avalaible for the italian market. Anyway it is really funny as a 125cc,
especially on short twisters, leaning becomes really easy, even for a
beginner as me. BTW Aprilia sells the SportProduction kit too, only for
races. It should get more than 40cv with that.

I've bought it just because I'm looking forward to a sport 600/1000cc,
and definetely need to learn to ride a sport bike.

    bye :)

I admit, I'd rather to a full engine rebuild on an LC than do the
clearances on any shim under bucket 4-stroke.

True, but you're more likely to get a shag from the bird down the chippy
with an RS125, which lets face it is one of the main reasons why most
    learner bikes are bought.

I'm basically getting the bike as the university wont let me park my car
there.. at the moment i've no intention of progressing to really high
powered machines in a few years time

Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Dave
If you're really only looking for a basic commuter bike that'll go
day-in day-out with minimal maintenance and for a short-ish commute,
then you do, indeed, want one of God's Own Motorcycles.

Buy a Honda CG125[1][2], and hail the Genius that was Sochiro.

You can't take your test on it.

Would make it cheap certainly but difficult to shift and you'd still need
to get something to take your test on.

[1] I'm assuming we're both referring to the standard full motorcycle
    and not light motorcycles category.

  16. A lot of universitys don't have student car parking, one of the
criteria my eldest used when choosing to go to Kent was that there was
student car parking and the costs were reasonable.

Just a little thing but could please leave in some sort of "attribution"
to the post to which you are replying. It makes it a lot easier to read
and follow when the thread starts diverging.

Have a look at the ukrm ffaq and follow the links.
