    Hi Zebee,

Never thought of that. I'll have a look at a few examples online. :)

Mate, I was considering the Multistrada but um... how do I say this
    politely...

.... it's soooo damned ugly from the front! No wonder it sticks out.
Admittedly it's pretty sexy IMHO from the side and rear though (reminds me
of someone I once... another story). :)

Great bike on paper, but really not for us. If I want to sit upright, I'll
buy a Leadwing when I'm grey, and if I want to tackle roads in worse
condition than the imperfect roads I already ride frequently, I'll buy a GS
(that's your queue Grandpa Conehead!) - tried and proven, and can be taken
    off-road, probably unlike the Multistrada.

Great idea but not for me.
Yes, this bit goes without saying - almost a tautology. :)

Damn - don't tell anyone please... (Lisa would... you know the rest). :)
I'll see if there's a subtle approach to this.

How's the trip? I'm bloody jealous of you! :)

    Hi Nev,

Yeah - thinking is that the nickel is the way to go. Perhaps the gold
spokes - but gold has so many connotations, such as with the lovely Honda
Preludes with gold badges (bleeeeeaugh). Perhaps I'll Photoshop something
and see what it looks like on my bike first.

You're right about the cost thing. If I'm going to spend more than about a
grand, I'd rather put it to better pipes/suspension, none of which are
really necessary (don't be passing it on that I admitted this of course...).
    :)

    Hi Peter,

Many thanks. I'll have a look-see and check out what's good and what's not!

How's the Gixxer? Now that bike needs no enhancement if you ask me. :)

    Hi Dave,

Many thanks for taking the time to respond. I really liked the bit where
    you ......

    ....... oh.

    :)

This cheap gag could be a little subtle for some - and no, I no longer send
    myself Valentine cards....

Well.. if you do a whole paintjob, why not paint it up like a 747?
    painted rivets and all.

Probably get an Ansett job going cheap....

Wouldn't painting it like an SR-71 be more appropriate?

I rather liked that C1200 BM painted up with the rivets and such like.

Well, the Ohlins fit the understated, but stylish...and expensive
    criteria. :)

As for the wheels, remember that the Bimmer doesn't have a chain and has
a single sided swing arm (or whatever BM call it), so it's easier to
    keep the rear wheel clean.

I learnt from the yellow wheels on the Hornet that lubing a chain is not
a good idea if you have fancy, light coloured wheels....of course, if

Try a photoshop job with red wheels and saddle..... that should look
good, with the gold suspesion bits.

Do you remember what happened to your last bike?

Why would you make your new one a bike that jealous bastards/crack
fiends are more inclined to steal?

Perhaps so that they DO steal it and you can bombard us with another
5000 post thread on "what bike should i buy now?" :)

I don't think Dave E. is likely to forget it. :-|

I am curious as to the opinions of the group,,,,

Does customising your bike make it more or less likely to be stolen?

I have always thought that a bike that really sticks out and is fairly
unique, would be less likely to be stolen.

    Geez, you're a bloody spoil-sport.

The best fun of shopping for a new bike is stirring up everyone else.

With all the nutters that hang about aus.moto, who would take any
    suggestion from them seriously? ;-)

Oh. That one went completely over my head. I didn't read the rest of the
thread. I pretty much filter out all but your posts.
castling in chess has its place. sometimes its just delaying the
inevitable but often theres tactical benefit.
Sounds fine by me. ITGDT is a really interesting and exciting subject.
It really contributes to our understanding of anomalous transport in
mag/plas fusion devices... the control of which (as i'm sure you'd know)
is one of the core (no pun intended) issues to allow our existing and
future fusion reactors to efficiently produce energy.
hah..i wouldnt know. I only wear CK fitted boxers under my leathers...

    Hi Dane,
Gees - I think you've nailed it for me. Now I wonder where the blue flouro
    bits should be mounted...
Um... I was awaiting your definition [1]....
Hmmm... hopefully the DataDots are of some use here.

    .... here it comes...
Phew - could have been much worse I guess. IMHO, "butcher" is suuuch a
strong word. Very "subtle/understated enhancement" is what I'm after. :)

If it was only rocket science I wouldn't have a fuckin problem, Pete! It's

I only get about one post in three lately, and when there's no attributions
I don't know who to pour scorn and derision upon. In this case, it will
have to be you - ya cameltoed git.
