DONT PUT DIELECTRIC GREASE ON PLASTIC CONNECTORS..

My 98 does not have sealed connectors. I guess, now that it's 7 years old,
    it's not "Modern".

So this tube of silicon based dielectric is no good? I've not had problems with
    plastic connectors on my boat....

  2. My '99 Ducati Monster has sealed connectors. (They don't stop the oil
pressure sensor connection getting damp and having the oil light glow
    dimly after heavy rain though.)

Umm it's a Duke. Shonky electrics are part of the tech spec :)

  4. Heh - I thought that was supposed to the Brit Bike forte?

(cue the warm beer/Lucas fridges joke)

Pulled my battery out of the bike -- zero corrosion anywhere; checked 90% of all
    connections, all fine.

The batter sides are concave (distorted greatly). Put it on a charger -- after
10 hours, took it off; w/in 2 minutes, it was down to 12.04 volts.

The sticker on the side shows the battery is actually barely older than 14
    months.
