Accidents in Petrol Stations for Legal Expertwitnessing in Spain

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by miguel619776475, Apr 20, 2008.

  1. Thank you. Beyond my personal experience, I work in a project for
audiovisual forensic technologies and legal transcriptions to text.
You have some information in English at www.cita.es/audiotext

And I have teach about forensic technologies to Spanish judges and
public prosecutors. However, I always starte my expert witnessing
approach watching and listening to anybody interested in the topic, no
matter what I already know about it.

  2. Perhaps standards of experts are lower in the Spanish courts? I
suspect the English High Court would take a dim view of a expert
    soliciting views from usenet!

  4. Yes, you are right. I am posting here just to learn and for better
understanding of knowledge (and ignorance) about accidents in Petrol
Station in UK. I also confess that I do not want you to meet the Judge
in order to give your opinion about my approach, because you are very
smart and I know nothing about your expertise.

Of course, the worse British expert is always much better than the
best Spanish one, and I am just an engineer and criminologist
studiying Philosophy, and not a very smart one. However, I think
Socrates is a good expert on questioning on any topic. And my customer
appreciate that I use a socratic approach in other countries in order
to have an overview and some new ideas.

A good question is often very much useful than a bad answer.

So, I sincerelly thank your kind comments. I listen much worse ones
from the opposite lawyer, and you help me to be ready to help my
    customer better.

    Any one else?

  5. I agree. Beyond Court of Law expert witnessing, right now we are
thinking in insurance contracts for Petrol Stations. Right now there
is a criminal procedure in a Spanish Court that I think will be closed
soon. However, the insurance companies have a lot of work to do in
this field, and I hope to have a chance to improve it.

  7. Not so few. I published some Spanish pressclips at http://www.miguelgallardo.es/gasolineras

I have no access to good hemerothects in English, but I am sure that
there are victims enough to make a research nobody did before, as far
    as I know.
The killed victim of the accident I am expert witnessing was a very
old lady in a urban petrol station with a lot of traffic. Now the
driver and the petrol station insurance companies are learning that
they know very little about this kind of risks. That is the reason
because I am doing my best to find new sources and news.

  8. Serious History can be useful, but I prefer to think in technical
forecastings. I mean that it could be interesting to discuss in what
can be different in next generation Petrol Stations and how will be
investigated an accident in the future.

I work to improve them as much as I can.

  9. One of the increased problems are shops in urban stations because the
more traffic the more accidents and walking people around cars just to
buy bread, newspapers or drinks that anybody can buy elsewere is one
of the dilemmas we are considering right no in Spain.
That is the reason because I prefer to speak about improvements in
Petrol Stations instead or reversing any of their business.

  10. Good idea. Thank you. Let me to think in how I can get my customer
    interest on it.

  11. No. Not exactly. I work for a modest professional fee (considering
that I am an engineer with many years of experience in accidentology),
but is not for free. However, if any of the ideas or project that I
can propose save a single life, I agree with you, because it will be
priceless (the saved life, not my fee).

  12. In Spain there are some crimes in petrol stations, but one the
problems for my study is the shop inside the petrol station because
many customers of the shop walk too near the cars before and after
their shopping. I mean that a petrol station is not the best place to
buy any good because the walking trafic is risky. But there are no
statistics about it, as far as I know.

  13. Good references but not very related with petrol stations as far as I
    can read there.

I think that the petrol business is big enough to make a serious
survey and to publish something more specific. Isn`t it?

    See! You were warned!
Hmmm. But they thought they might. So they're victims. It's all your
    fault.
