Listen, many of us have known several people killed on bikes. Many of
us have been to hospital in ambulances following bike crashes.

Exactly what point were you making in your post? Did you know the biker
    in question?

How long had you known Mr Twat before the accident?

Yeah. I mean, he probably wouldn't have hit the biker if he'd been
    sober.

So you don't ride a bike, or even have a license and you come on here saying
there dangerous, who are you some fucking politician in the transport
Department, Was he knocked off by some non dangerous car or maybe he
slipped on some road friendly diesel spill, How the **** do you know it was
his fault and he's the danger ?

It wasn't really about it being a biker, just a fucking horrible thing to
see happen to a person which left me a little cold.
I mentioned it here as it was pertinent, didn't think it would piss anyone
    off, ho hum.

I'm not anti biking or anti getting the most out of life, in fact if biking
helps people to come to terms with their mortality, which this thread would
suggest, maybe it is a better idea than folk realise.

    *sigh*

"Biker down" posts are completely boring and pointless. If you're
stressed about it take it to a fucking shrink. It doesn't make good or
    instructive reading here.
Eh? Who suggested you were anti-biker? I'm just anti-boredom.

I don't think that anything here suggests that bikes help people come to
terms with their mortality; quite the reverse, every[1] time I ride a
bike it confirms that I'm immortal.

    [1] OK, almost.

    Heh. Whoops.

Yes, it's running fine. The journey home took less than half the time
than with the sidecar. I'm sure the speedo is optimistic...

Do you know if it's had the cam chain/belt done at some point in its
    life?

Though apart from that one worry (I can hear what sounds like a slightly
loose belt) it's a fine motorcycle. It seems to have the poise of a
sports tourer with the comfort of a full on tourer, although having had
Beemers for so long maybe I'm missing something.

I fear for my license a little though.

The belts were done at 60,000. I'll dig the service book out and pass it
on to you. Do you want the HBoL as well?
    Heh.

I wasn't highlighting that bikes were dangerous (as they are obviously
perfectly safe) merely that I am a coward.
