Work related. Got kicked by a stroppy 12 year old. Not uncommon in my job
and rarely resuslts in an injury. This time, I was wearing a pair of combat
trousers with my Nokia 6300[1] in the left pocket at knee level. Said kid
managed to kick the phone which must have embedded itself into a tendon or
    somesuch.

Since last Saturday I have had a partially paralysed left leg. I can't lift
my left foot off the ground when seated. When standing, I can raise my foot
as you use a different muscle group, so I can walk, sort of. It's been
looked at by A&E and then orthopods. Three different diagnoses, ranging
from a ruptured tendon to a bruised nerve. I've been signed off work for 2
weeks and asked to go back. They are hoping that after the swelling has
gone down I will be able to move properly again. Early signs are promising
as I have a little movement back.

Not being able to drive is a PITA. Shame my C2 doesn't have the flappy
    paddle gearbox...

[1] this phone has a metal casing

Bugger. Do you get to club the little bastard senseless in return?

No. The kids come to me pre-disastered and often thoroughly buggered. I try
    to fix them.
    Cheers

It's easier and more satisfying to club the little cunts to death -
cheaper too. Saves the government a fortune as well.

You've not really understood the point of social work, have you.

Eh? I thought your job was on the periphery of social work.

I understand completely. Those that need help and want help can be
helped. The others are a waste of space.

what, to enable the middle-classes to sleep better at night because
they know that "something is being done"?

Of course. I'd rather something was done, than not done. Wouldn't
    you?
