AAT: Evolving language

Since moving I have had to change doctors surgery and the new one has a
LCD touch-screen thingy in reception where you effectively sign in so
they know you're there.

Anyway, I signed in and then had reason to talk to the receptionist[1].
Afterwards she asked me if I had "arrived myself". To which I replied,
"What?". "Have you arrived yourself?" she asked again. At this point
I sort of got the gist of what she meant.


[1] For blood test results from last week. All OK, inc. liver & kidney
functions and cholesterol. Which was nice.

 

And did you come?

AOL. I had a bit of health news yesterday which ame as a fucking relief
after a nervous few months. Feel happy as a sand boy this morning.

So was I. Six months ago my dentist spotted a lesion under my tongue,
told me not to worry about it but photographed it and referred me to an
Oral Surgery Consultant. Great, I thought as I failed at the not
worrying bit whilst waiting for an appointment.

Got told on Wednesday it was nothing sinister. Phew.

 

That's a lot of effort to save an Amerian!
