Yes this ST4S has the OEM fit datatool evo alarm immobiliser fitted. I hate these fucking things with a vengence. 4 days sitting in Leeds airport and the battery will barely kick it over. My 996 was just the same. The beeping in service mode (to do anything at all) is almost as bad. Trying to fill it with fuel without needing the sender just finishes the job. Can anyone point me to a source of reference or does someone here have direct experience of removing the fucking thing? My new XENA XN-19 disc lock/alarm is a faaaar better option. £90 from Hein Gericke. I thoroughly recommend them.
Hog says... Follow the cables that come out of the box down to the loom, they'll be connected into the loom in pairs where the original loom has been diverted throuugh the Datatool box. Unravel the loom covering tape and see which original loom wires have been snipped and then reconnect them all after cutting enough of the Datatool wires to make reconnection possible. Just remember the original wires will be shorter and won't reach each other if you snip back to each join, so leave some of the Datatool cable to enable the reconnection. That's what I did on my 9R. Then take the Datatool box and jump up and down on it while swearing loudly. -- Lozzo Triumph Daytona 955i SE (Black with added black bits) Suzuki Bandit 600S (Green with added shit bits) Yamaha SR250 Delusion (It's "Special") I ride way too fast to worry about cholestorol.
If it's OEM it's probably just plug 'n' play[1], apart from the feed to the indicators. Follow the leads from the alarm & if they end at a multi-plug connected to the loom, just unplug it & plug the original plug back in (which will probably be hanging around in roughly the same place).
