Can anyone advise if the A14 is still borked around J12/13, or just
generally? Is it anyway near to its former self since about a fortnight ago
    with bridge repairs?

    What junctions are they?
I use the A14 every day, but never can remember the numbers.

So do I and nor can I. According to my road atlas, they're the
    Thrapston area.

    Right, Taa.
Don't often go that far up, I'm normally around the Cambs - Ipswich bit.

Thanks. The answer is, its still well knackered and best avoided, unless you
    are on your bike.

That applies to much of the A14!

And is just as useful as all the other sites that state works started
on a certain motorway (that I use daily) in June, and will be completed
    on the 31st December.

Err, no. The works started in October, are expected to take an extra
month to complete so they won't be finished until some time in April.

    Real-time traffic? I don't think so.

We have a system here, 511, you can ring on your mobile and get
real-time traffic info on the major roadways.

That's good, but given that some of the sites (including the one listed
above) have information provided by the Highways Agency, if they did
have a 'phone service like that I'd be surprised if they could maintain
    it effectively.

After all, they can't even give out the correct info online, so in
    short, <shrug>.

Ours actually works (I did shout it the first few times tho). It's voice
recognition wasn't the greatest but evidently they've made improvements.
