  1. Hmmmmyesss... but the MZ's six-volt system is damn good, especially the
    headlight.

Well the one I have for sale looks like this
    http://www.moonshiners.org.uk/photographs/2007/06 june/dashers+BSA/dandbsa009.JPG
Loads of stainless steel, in all the right places. Runs like a B31 should.
12v electrics, rebuilt dynamo and solid state regulator. All in all, a
rather shiny example of BSA's finest ( finest what, we ain't saying ).
Seen here lurking in the place it was born, or what's left of it.

If that ain't put you off, then maybe this will ;-)

    Looking for £ 2500
My uncle had an old Wolseley with the same nickname, tended to burn it as
    well as leak it.

  3. I'll look at them near the end of the month when I know how many
minibites I'm in credit on this Vogonfone internot dongle (lite)
Not sure that the connection is fast enough for a vijo.
Let's hope I can screw *LOTS* of interest out of the DWP...
Ah, I had a 6/99 that was that way inclined - never needed to change the
    oil innit.

  4. When all the connections are tight ant the charging system is the way it
should be, it's the best 6V system I've encountered.
I still wanted to 12V it though, for a 12V system would still have been
    better.

  5. 12V among other things makes bulb supply easier, also it halves the current
and reduces I²R losses in cables and connectors by 75%. That's why the
national grid runs at 33KV, with bigger and higher voltage grids above it,
    for them as don't know.

Although seriously high voltages have other problems, of course, not least
the insulation has to work harder and is more prone to break down.

But it could be a safety factor on dark nights: If you look like
something out of "Heroes" people tend to keep out of your way.

    Nasty at filling stations though...

  7. Well, on a 6V MZ, you don't have to helicopter alongside it with a
    pressure washer, for a start.

So, to summarise, you're saying that a 33KV MZ would be best of all?

Cool. I'd pay to see that.

    From a distance.

I dunno, high-tension MZs and CZ plasma-bolts in less than a week.

Is the Internet great, or *what*?

You'd be able to. Also, with a headlight powered by 33KV, I imagine
the chap on the MZ would be able to see you!

I'm sure this bloody MZ has internet access.
Just to prove an electrical point the thing has sat since Saturday with its
lights on { nothing to do with the clumsy bugger who turned the key one
    click to far }.
33KV would have been nice - at least the garage would have been warm ;-)

Needless to say, in true MZ fashion, after a few minutes to "rest and
recuperate" the thing fired up with no problem. Ah, speaking of fire. Just
for my entertainment some kind soul decided to set fire to the factory
behind the pub this evening. Most kind of 'em. Had I have been a bit
smarter in the thinking department I could have solved the MZ problem once
    and for all.

Heh, where's that then? Won't help much for this month's particulate air
    pollution monitoring target compliance.
