My Brother-in-law owned an RF900 which he traded in for a Harley. He was afraid
of losing his licence as he needed it for his job, and couldn't trust himself
not speeding, so went for the Harley to keep him clean

A few months later, he gets bored with the Harley, and trades that in for the
Honda Blackbird, assuring himself he wouldn't go berserk all of the time.

A few more months and the nagging doubt sets in about his licence, and he trades
once again, this time for the Kawasaki VN1600 Classic! This bores him to
death, so yes, a few months later he trades it in for a Buell!! Next, yep, few
months on from that, back to a Harley.

He has now sold his Harley and doesn't have a bike at all. He wants something
different. He has now decided to, and gone and purchased a Gryocopter.

Is it time to section him???

I don't weigh very much and I have a Gyro-copter fixation that could
    be easily cured...
Also, I don't care much whether the pilot is qualified or not...
An' for a G-copter ride I'd do... well, a fair bit...
I'll also throw in a pair of genuine ex-spitfire boots... sheepskin
    pukka doofers... :)

  8. 4 miles from me is (AFAIK) Britain's only full-time flying school for
those things. I see them quite often (although yesterday there was an
Apache Longbow in the area, quite a sight). Looks like fun.

Oh wow, do the have an open day at all? I haven't seen a Gyro, in the
flesh so to speak, for years...
I remember the Barnes-Wallis gyro doing an aerial disply at RAF Little
Rissington back in the early '70's, complete with a rocket run on a
    Commer van, great pyrotechnics...
    Gyro's are cool... :)

  11. Not that I'm aware of, but they are always buzzing around. There is a
sort of open air museum here, too, with a few decommissioned military
craft on display - a Vulcan, Lightning and Meteor being some of them.

I thought, for some reason, that it was the same chap who did the
bouncing bomb... It was the Bond-gyro feller, right (volcanoes in
    Japan...)?

Cripes!! My Brother in law is a bit chubby, so if he falls out the sky maybe he
will impersonate the Bouncing bomb! :)
