A warped rotor

I've had a one in three success with flattening warped rotors on my
    dirtbike. Maybe I wasn't patient enough. I have a new KZ1000P that has a
serious modulation in braking force as the speed drops below 15mph or so.
Does anyone have any best practices or suggestions to assure success and
    fewer iterations?

Are you sure that the rotor is actually warped? I've had more than one
bike with the exact symptoms you describe that were fixed by abrading
off accumulated crud from the rotors.

  3. A good engineering shop with a hydraulic press should be able to do
the job just fine. Maybe you're just unlucky.

  4. What he said. My present BMW had *exactly* that problem.

  5. So your 'cure' is, in fact, for a problem he doesn't have.

  6. Make sure it's really warped and not just cocked and wobbling.
I had one where the carrier was slightly bent but the rotor was fine
and simply cocked a little by the bent carrier.

I was able to mark out the high and low spot on the rotor and then
correct the wobble by shimming between the carrier and the
    wheel using aluminum foil.

Clever.. how did you ascertain wobble vs cocked? That sounds like a very
small error we're talking about here...

Thanks to everyone for their help!

    Hi Mike,
Before going to any length to fix the problem, I would first remove
the rotor and make sure if it is warped or not. (after spinning the
wheel to see if the rotor(s) demonstrates any "wobble".)

    Good to see you again,
