    A booster seat to make it more difficult for them to reach the pegs?

    I'm not convinced that something that possibly keeps them closer to the
    bike in the event of an off is necessarily a good idea either.

    But, hey, as you say, they're only Italians.

    The pictured child's feet are nowhere near the footrests are they. Is
    such a seat a legal requirement in Italy. Parlo poccisimo italiano
    beyond pointing at a bit of bost Gilera and saying 'uno come questo', so
    can't translate.
    As you say it doesn't actually provide any real protection, just
    restraint. The lad grabs on to a pair of those handles on a belt when he
    rides pillion.

    I think it's Italian for "I pleasure donkeys"
    I achieved the same or similar by fitting a Givi top box [1]

    [1] Givi being Italian for "our kit makes more sense than that stuff
    from the donkey pleasurers"
