During our curry in Watford on Saturday I told Jackie, DNC and BigJ
about my adventure that afternoon. I had decided to take the T/Bird
out for a spin. So I hauled its heavy arse out of the garage then
pressed the starter. Whirr, clunk, tick, tick. The battery was flat.
So I decided to bump start it. So I selected 2nd gear turned on the
ignition then started running and jumping on the seat whilst releasing
the clutch. Nothing. I after about half a mile I pushed it down a hill
and sat on, then released the clutch.nothing. Another half a mile and
my now I was on my knees, still nothing. This bike is quite heavy and
I have very little muscle left so it was hard work. TBH, I was quite
exhausted. It suddenly dawned on me...I hadn't disarmed the
immobiliser. I pressed the key fob, pushed bike then released the
    clutch, it started no prob.

At least it was the immobiliser and not the ignition kill switch.
Halfway down bloody Honister Pass before I realised.

Whirr, clunk, tick, tick. The battery was flat.
In the olden days we didn't have immobilisers. I bought a new Honda 250 in
1972 - it was a reward for giving up smoking. A day or two later it would'nt
start. I rang the man with anger in my voice. Kill switch: he said. He spoke
the truth. I didn't blush because I was young.

This post has slightly been written in the style of Hemingway.
