I'm running GPR70s on the KR1 and I'm pretty happy with them. Similar
weight and size bike to the FZR250.

Ahh.. I've gone back and had a second look now. It was a 140/60-18...
duh. You're right as usual. :) A 70 profile tyre will still be ok won't it?

There is a reason for this. :) Have you seen the bike?

Those tend to shatter into lots of little gravel sized chunks. Just
check your tread for stuck bits of glass.

AA won't take the bike there, they say I need homestart which, until the
end of membership (may 2005) they want 75 quid! OK, says I , I'll push
it round the corner. "You can't do that because we've logged the call
and we know that's what you've said"

    Cunts.

FWR haven't got a recovery truck and the number they gave me for
recovery came up dud. Various recovery places wanted between 45 and 75
but the cheapest option, same day van courier at 28 quid wouldn't take
    me with the bike.[1]

I'm going to leave it until tomorrow, push the fucking bike to Kilburn
and try the AA again, WTF do I pay my membership for?

    Useless bunch of cunts.

[1] The woman wasn't helpful but the blokie suggested taking the wheel
of and driving it down which is a good idea except I ain't got a drift
    and a big 'ammer :(

WTF don't you get in the Mondeo, drive to a car/bike spares place and
get an aerosol can of get-you-home puncture repair inna can? Cost you
a fiver, job's done in five minutes and you don't need to take the
    wheel off.

Had Avons replaced by FWR twice for just a basic fitting charge. It's
one good reason for fitting them.

I used AV45/46 on my FJR and they felt sure at all times and in all
weathers. I intend to put some on the Ace as soon as funds allow.
Have worn 020's on at the moment. Never tried the 'super' sticky 49/50
    combo.

Maybe not but sure as hell can drive [1], Followed him back from cat &
fiddle down A54 on Saturday and followed was the key word... Could I fuckers
like catch him, and I don't consider myself one of the slowest riders in
this parish. At one point I'm sure he went FWA because the ensuing scraping
(tarmac planing) noise was easily audible over the rasp of the gixer with
    plenty of beans dialed in.

[1] Or he just had a "brains left in the toolbox moment"

Granted, it's got almost the same width rear tyre as my front...

But whatever wheels or tyres you put on that, would it not handle like
it had a hinge in the middle of the frame?

  18. That's what I'll do if the AA won't play ball tomorrow after I've broken
    down in Kilburn.

I was with him most of the way but no way could I get past him, If I were on
something less like a sportsbike I may have stood a better chance... The A54
from C&F is a manic roller coaster, a 3D road if I ever saw one. Couldnt get
the bike to settle to get enough power down, maybe my inexperience I
suppose, have a go on the road the next time you are in the norf.
