SWMBO decided it was quiet evening & an opportunity to play 3 tracks
that meant the most to us.

    She played 3 nondescript tracks

I followed with Art Blakey's "Sincerely Diana" from the "A night in
Tunisia" album, Ronny Jordan's version of Miles Davis' "so what" and the
entirety of Deacon Blue's Raintown album. And she has the nerve to call
    me insensitive!

    Women, eh?

I don't think I could cope with that much excitement.

I think the gag is that he can still listen to something as painfully
    '80s as 'Raintown' without grimacing.

Liked it at the time, mind.

I don't understand how come you lot bother remembering all this stuff.
I have heard bands, read books, seen films and eaten dinners which have
been less than memorable so I treat them accordingly.

It is good really because I always know that if I don't know it's name
it is crap or I would have remembered it. What was your name again?

If it's less than memorable, it's probably not very good, and worth having
filed away so as to avoid wasting time experiencing again. The alternative
    is Groundhog Day.
My memory is fucking awful, mind. I've got multiple copies of albums because
I've forgotten I've already bought them. Three copies, in one case.
Whatever you want it to be.

To be honest I've read it myself and I can't be entirely sure, but
suffice to say we went to the pub at about 5pm and the post was made a
    little after 1am.

I *think* it was all about SWMBO playing me 3 tracks of significant
emotional significance to her followed by me making her sit through an
hour of so of stuff that I just happened to enjoy (I know). Having sat
patiently she turned and asked what the significance was and I simply
replied that I just enjoyed it.

    Oops

Funnily enuff, I've been putting my foot in it this evening - alluding
in conversation to SWMBO's inability to drive.

    Oops.

Y'know, sometimes I wonder at how such an intelligent human being can
be *so* stoopid! Naturaly, I'm talking about you, not Sarah...
