a perfect riding moment

I didn't any spectaular rides today - just some errands around town.

Coming out of Home Depot on 2499 I turned down the side road (Spinks?) and
started cresting a hill. There, in the middle of Area 51, Denton County I
experienced one of those moments that define why we ride...

One either side of the road was ranchland (i.e.
not-yet-developed-commercial-property). The air was cool, there were no
cars around - I had the road to myself. It was almost as if I had been
beemed out of the middle of the metromess and out to some rural county
road. It was that 'perfect moment'. Of course it didn't last long. After
cresting the hill I had a grand view of new warehouses going up but it was
    fine while it lasted.

Later on while riding around town I passed a couple drivers who had dogs
in the car with them - those of the canine persuasion. It was funny cause
the dogs looked at me on the bike and I seemed to feel they were saying to
me, "Man, I wish I could have my head out the window".

The phrases "Dogs know why we ride" and "Bikers know whay dogs stick their
heads out the window" came to mind.

Hey Bill Cattell, it don't have be no big ride, to be a ride.

Shoot I ride ''up a tank'' a week around here, just pittleing around,
going to the store, taking a long cut, to the mall, and stuff. Shopping
    --whatever-shoot--

My gal works, and I usually ride just about every where I go. Saves
    money, for one thang.

I agree, that now and then, it dawns on ''Us Riders'', why this is one
great sport, or whatever ya wanna call it.

your ''mini bike ride'' report, was well said, and very interesting, and
    keep it up.

    Git ‘er done. WillieJay

How does riding save money? It seems that everytime I mount up on my
bike it cost me money. Maybe I should stop going by the Honda shops.

I've ALMOST learned to stay away from bike shops and Fry's Electronics.
    Avoiding those two has helped me save a bunch of money. 8-}
