  3. I had it happen once - bolt fell out

Fixed it with a hose clamp....well, not really - had to find a bolt at a
    servo

Lucky it was a country servo with a box of bolts & wire & holden ball
    joints under the counter

You know, I've got a good GPZ900R motor in my "spare parts" GPZ900R
that you could have, if you promise to use it to create a "Kawaumph"
    or "Triusaki". :)

(Not so many "Tritons" or "Norphs" on the road these days!)

Based on how bloody difficult ball joints can be to press out of
suspension arms, I assume that cured the problem for you? ;-)

Disappointed we didn't catch up, Tim. (I only owe you 50 beers or so!)
Good work on the sponsorship too.

I had a spare BMW in the garage Clem, you should have called.

    Now CUT THAT OUT!
I could've paid you $1000 hire fee and STILL been ahead over-all but it just
    seems wrong.
Either way; the Trump's gonna' take a while so I need fairly long-term
    wheels .....
Would've been nice to take an R75 interstate though. (and, considering it's
Ray Peake fettled, a whole lot less troublesome)

    *A* spare BMW?

    Surely that's "several spare BMWs".

Or aren't all of them spare?

  12. Pull the bolt out, slather it in blue loctite and reinstall. I guarantee that
it will never darken your doorstep again. Should be a 10mm spanner to pull it
    off IIRC.

  13. Of course it won't stand up to repeated dropping but I figure betty has done
her lifetimes worth of that and won't do it again. If she does I'm going to
recommend she gets a can am spyder.

Bwahahahaha! If you do, Fraser, I'll recommend that you get, um, knotted!
    ;-)

Next strategy is looking to have the seat carved a bit. See if that helps.

Or you might consider high heels ?
Perhaps have the legs lengthened ?

How about one of the Corbin ones? Lower than stock and maybe more comfy
    too.
Sorry if I came in late and that's already in the mix though. Cheers

A good thing to do but be careful - a little bit can makes a big
difference and it isn't so good to over-do it. The RT made my knees
sore, so I had the seat carved a bit, moved the pegs a bit down and
forward, and raised the handle bars 10mm. No more sore knees even
after 8 - 10 hrs in the saddle. The seating position is comfortable
and pretty well perfect but I have the distinct feeling that had I
done more, it would have basically ruined the bike - had I not ensured
that everything was reversible of course.

    Nah that would be sensible
one of our local councillors had her legs broken and made longer..

    Dunno.

I've only ever got one Corbin seat, for a Suzi Intruder.

It was, to be exact, slightly lower than the standard seat, but it was
also wider, so the net effect wasn't really helping in the sense of feet
    reaching the ground.

OTOH, for me, it was very comfy, and, despite the ludicrous price, I
still got my money's worth from it. :)
