A nice day. Just... a nice day

Wife and kids have gone up to town today with the teenage Japanese
girl[1] we have staying with us for three weeks, to show her the sights.

I had some work to finish, and having done that I've just spent three
happy hours pottering and furtling in the garage. Doing all those little
jobs that I've been meaning to do for ages.

Like sorting out the new 400 Four spares stash, and putting it all in
one box.

Replacing the crankshaft oil gallery seal on the 400 Four.

Mending the cracked indicator on the Trophy.

Changing the fork oil on the 250, and then giving it a polish.

Checking over The Lad's DT50.

Putting the Ducati's battery on the charger.

Making a bit more space for... well, anything.

Just doing... stuff.

To paraphrase Kenneth Grahame: "There is nothing - absolutely NOTHING -
half so much worth doing as simply messing about with bikes...."

Me too .. my one vice ... well motorbikes apart ...

 

I spent a little while this morning driving down to Halfords to purchase a
length of fuel hose. Yesterday I returned from a little trundle on the RT
to discover the source of the faint reek of petrol I had been noticing as I
rode - a little crack at one end of the cross-feed pipe was spraying the
right-hand carb. Just one more little thing. Fucking BMWs.

 

I'm dancing, in a LIverpudlian accent.
