A nice cup of tea.

The Brits are always famed for this. A nice cup of tea sorts
    everything.

On the way to work this morning, I just stopped in the traffic, when
someone behind me didn't and ran into the back of my bike pushing me
into the car in front. The bike went over, as you could imagine.

It was mostly cosmetic damage but it's still a bummer, as I now have
to suffer the car to go to work (which will take up to two hours if I
need to go in rush hour), but the lass was really apologetic (in
    amongst her tears).

Anyway, accident report sorted and off I trundled home (with a broken
mudguard, broken fly screen and brake lever plus small scuffs all over
the RHS of the bike). Because it was a low speed (read less than 5kph)
spill, I think that the frame and forks are fine (I didn't feel
    anything untoward whilst riding home).

When I got home, not only did my 18 month old daughter laugh at daddy
coming home but I was given a cup of tea by SWMBO whilst I did the
usual calls to the garage, insurance, etc. That made my day that did.

Ah well, c'est la vie. Photos to follow.

Bad form, etc. But I forgot to mention that someone was going to buy
the bike on Saturday. I called said Monsieur, explained the issue and
said if he's still interested after the repairs have been done, I'd
call him (which he's still open too, which is nice).

As we said our good-byes over the phone, I heard him exclaim "Merde!"
just before he hung up. Made Oi grin, that did.

  7. Same thing happened to moi yesterday except I was in the lucky position
of catching it an inch from the ground and got off and lifted it before
    tarmac and plastics met.

Bad luck old chap.. but the subject line made me think of this from
    todays Popbitch.

Lauren Harries has made a sex video. You don't have to look:

This might help make the above images just that little bit more
    disturbing.

  13. Your bike got squashed between a couple of tons of metal travelling
slowly? Rather like it being in a press then? Somebody else is paying
for it, the least you can do is get it checked out properly at their
    expense.

Oh and by the way, did she?

  14. Oh well if we are trading "I am a riding god in traffic this week"
stories and here is the latest...

I locked up the back wheel when braking hard while turning left tonight
cos the aggressive twat in the beemer who had been being an aggressive
twat in a beemer all the way up the high street tested his ABS at the
pedestrian crossing immediately after the turn when he should have been
on the throttle if he had been at all consistent. I wouldn't have
minded if it was some of the totty that wobbles along around there of an
evening but he stopped for another bloke, must've his poofy mate I
    reckon. And he stalled it.

Reminds me of an accident I had about 25 years ago when I went over the
bonnet of a Ford Capri and landed outside an Old Peoples Home. Within a
minute or two I was getting cups of tea thrust at me from all directions.
Apparently, sweet tea is good for shock ...
