A new type of race

I have my first Enduro next week.
Its a time card event where you are penalised for being early or late
    through the gate.
The times expected for the lap are ever decreasing so it gets harder and
    harder.
Anyway, I've got to ride off road for 4 hours with only fuel stops for
rests, (and you get a rest if you complete the lap early as you just sit in
the parc ferme until you wheel the bike through the gate.)

    Better up the fitness routine.

    Respect!

Makes us endurance racers look a bit wussy.
You are going to be *so* knackered.
    Best you had.

Which one you doing? Don't forget the bananas, ibruprofen, and lots and
lots of water! If you want a real challenge, there's always the Dawn to
    Dusk on the 28th... ;-)

    Sidcup MCC Closed to club
    Ok, I'll get a camelbak.
I was thinking of doing that. However, I was told it's full and I would only
do it as a 3 man team
and my friends who ride are all on holiday!

I am NOT doing the Ironman!

And if you want a proper challenge, go endurance/enduro racing on a
bike that doesn't have an engine.

If you're name dropping then Patsy Quick is doing our one.
    Have you done it then?
Fancy making a UKRM team next year?

Endurance mountain bike racing. I'm not a road riders so Audax
doesn't appeal to me. And they're not really races, are they? More
    reliability trials.

I've nearly completed a season of 50k races. Got my times down to
just over 3 hours now from 5 at the start of the season.

Next year I'll be doing a season of 100km ones a couple of 6 hours and
if I can get 3 other people together, I'd like to do the Saab Saloman
Mountain Mayhem 24 race as well.

Action packed photo from the last race:

I suspect you'd die without one.
It was full a few weeks back, although they did allow a couple of late
entries - Cyril Depres & Alfie Cox!
    Wuss!

heh. In days of old, people used to build rediculous behemouths for
Weston Beach Race. I'm sure there was a CB900 engined creation in the
early 80s, and something based on a GSX-R 1100 a few years later.

Are there any plans afoot to organise (in the loosest possible terms) a
'day out' to see the beach racing this year?

Sand, wind, MX riders dying of exhaustion and plenty alcohol -
    irresistible.

God no, I need half an hour's kip after just unloading the trailer. I
know a girl who did it last year though.
Err... uhmm... <checks sig> ahh... I seem to be lacking any suitable
    hardware these days. Phew...

    Well, no, but...
It does sound good. If only we knew someone who lived near Bristol...

    Thought you might.

You still going to do the Isle Of Man End-To-End? I'm still not going
to be able to afford it. But there's always next year.

Fancy doing the last Merida one on the 19th Sept?

I did contemplate using it for the WSM beach race in a moment of
temporary insanity, but I'm better now. Although I am taking a bunch of
other Tiger riders for an off-road trundle around Salisbury Plain in a
few weeks, so maybe I've had a relapse :-/
