A new law in Texas

A couple weeks ago, I was on my way to the airport and I asked my wife
to take the Jeep and get the oil changed while I was gone. I came back
the following Friday and while we were driving home, I asked "did you
get a chance to change the oil?". She said she had and continued
saying "it was a good thing too, because some other stuff was wrong
with it". HUH? I cut to the chase and asked "how much did it cost".
She said "$138". Excuse me? She continued to tell me that they'd
changed the fluids in the axles. I asked why. I mean, this Jeep is
    barely used...almost new....not abused...

Well, when she told me they'd changed the fluid in the axles, I pulled
over and looked under the Jeep. Sure enough, not a single bolt was
undone and still had plenty of dirt on them. $50 each for the axles
and on a Jeep that's a X2 price. I explained to my wife that to change
the fluids in the axles, you have to take the cover off and clean out
through the splines. I even got home and did a search for "jeep axles
fluid change" and the first three hit on pictures of what I'd
    described.

Okay, if the place is going to charge for this, they're going to do
it. I went back to the place and asked to speak to the manager. I
wasn't asking for my money back, only to have the work done the way
it's supposed to be done. Well, it turned out as I looked around at
the people there, it was nothing but a bunch of hoodlums. The manager
was wearing these fancy gold teeth that you buy from the corner low
life convenience store. Whew! This gets interesting from here. I
explained who I was and didn't even get completed before he recalled
my wife and her Jeep. Obviously not too many people go in for having
axle fluids changed. I asked him to now do the work he was paid for.
As I'd suspected when I looked over that crew, he wanted to bully
someone out of there instead of doing the work. I then got on the
phone and called the police, because I could see where this was
going....quickly. While we waited for the police to arrive, one of the
"employees" came into the office there and started talking about
filing charges on me. Okay, that's fine....whatever. Filing charges on
someone for asking them to do the work they were paid for? This guy
even said "you make me want to fight". I then told him if he wanted to
fight me, he needed to go seek therapy....but in the meantime he
needed to mind his own business and get back to work instead of
wanting to fight me. Well, the police arrived and as I guessed started
telling me how it was a "civil matter". After talking with the police
officer, he explained this was why he wouldn't do business with this
bunch. I asked him to at least take a report about this and he agreed.
As we were wrapping up the report writing, the other officer that
arrived said "they want to file charges on him". WTF? I started
laughing! I hadn't slapped anyone. I hadn't threatened to slap anyone.
I hadn't done anything but tell them to get to work. Guess what the
charge was...telling the guy to get to work! Whew!!! When the police
officer asked him what I'd said, this guy started saying "well,
basically...". The officer stopped him and said "I didn't ask anything
about basically...WHAT DID THE MAN SAY TO YOU?". The citation reads
"inappropriate language...."get back to work". WTF?

I called the City of Mesquite to ask them what the status on this was
and they were insistent that they were going to prosecute this....a
$250 fine. WTF? I replied with a letter asking for a jury trial,
records from the police and all.

So there's a new law in Texas....you can't tell anyone to get back to
    work without facing criminal charges....

I give up on trying to do business in Mesquite. With the exception of
a few restaurants, there's nothing but a bunch of crooked businesses
(Renegade Cycles included) here lately. When you have work done, but
it doesn't get done...you still have to pay or face criminal charges.
If you complain about the work not being done, you face criminal
charges. If you call the police to either get your money or have the
work done, it's a "civil matter". WTF have we got to in this country?
In Mexico, if you don't pay for work done, you go to jail. If you
don't do work that you charged for, you go to jail. It's that simple.

This is just screwed up backwards bullshit!

    and get under that Jeep.

Well hell, dude.. It's hard to tell whether you are bound and determined
to start some shit on this newsgroup, or whether you just like to joke about
stuff that you don't know anything about..

Either way.. if you keep on poking around with that stick of yours, you are
sure to get more than enough.. Word to the wise oughtta be good, right ?

    Just keep that in mind....

    BTW, I haven't poked at you....just making friendly conversation....so
far. If you thought it's been "poking" at you, you might want to
reconsider where you might be heading.

There should REALLY be a disclaimer at the door of this newsgroup
warning against such things, you know it?

And it's like all the new posters make the same mistake.....

Maybe we should all ride down there and teach ole Dusty a thang or
two..ride some circles around him and teach him who the boss is around
these here parts....that would learn him.

First we'll have to either get Timbo out here to teach us how to ride
those circles, or we'll have to get in the MSF course...

And shit, why come you're being told you need the advanced course and
I'm being told I need the basic? Who's on the faster motorcycle riding
    out front all the time?

Shit, I'm riding in the back with Ed more often....he wasn't even told
he needed the course at all!

The determining factor of what course you need is decided by what you
ride...I would need the advanced course because he could tell by me
riding a Goldwing that I know what the **** I am doing...A feller on a
crotch rocket must need the basic course because hes all fucked up and
must be trying to impress some young chicks at Twin Peaks or
    something...hell if I know.

Thats because they figured Ed pushed his motorycle up there.

Nah.. let's just get arranged and take him on a ride down into Mexico.. lol
That'd "learn" him a thing or two, wouldn't it ? At least, it'd put the
    britches
on Bjay for a while.. Have you noticed that Bjay has sure been getting all
uppity, here lately.. You don't suppose he's thinking that he's better than
all of again, do you ?

hmm.. Bjay is going to keep on messing around and I'll sic Henry from the
rec.moto group on his old ass.. Henry will show him who his "betters" are
    real quick.. lmao
