"SmarTire acts as an early warning device by actively monitoring tire
pressure and temperature while you're riding. The instant SmarTire
senses a problem, you will be alerted and able to take precautions."

    Anyone know anything about it?

I've actually looked into getting those. They look really cool, but
then I looked back at the bike and figured a "Blackbird" with a bunch
of chrome bling might be an oxymoron. :)

When I first fell in love with these bikes, they were called Blackbird
(after the SR71 Blackbird) and I was just blown away by their all
around sportbike qualities and their being a thing of beauty. I think
it was in '99 when they started building the Blackbird in silver and
then another being in burgandy. A few years later they dropped the
black color altogether. I always said if I got one, it would be in
black. I did the throttlemeister in the black milled (silver grinds in
it) to match into the grey ghost flames, but that's about all the
amount of chrome or silver I want to add right now.

Let me know how those covers work for you as I might still change my
mind and get them. They're probably the nicest ones on the market that
    I've seen.

I just heard about this, and think it's going in on the next set of tires.

Here's a review of install and use:

I bet it would increase tire life considerable, especially if, like me,
you are lax in checking pressures. The warning light on pressure loss
    could save your life.

I believe I need one of them thangs.
But, however, old fashion eye balling, and kicking the tires between
coke and fuel breaks, will still surfice.
I can witness to that; ''the screw'', the ''screw''. (chuckles)

    Well, I look at it like this;
There's only the two wheels, and if one doesnt check the Bike out, each
time he gets on it after a good while- well, lets just say it should be
    a routine, like ''Pilots'' do.

I have overlooked AP, before, and when I did one time, my front tire was
down to 18 pounds. Alarmed me, so I got me a good gage, and keep it
    handy.

Ya know all truckers, walk around their rigs, almost every time they
    stop.
    good safety habits. <g>
