A midwinter jaunt

At the pub with some of the SV bods last night, one of them announced
that he's got some time off between christmas and new year and is
intending to do a charity run from High Wycombe to John O'Groats to
Lands End to High Wycombe. In under 24 hours.

After I'd stopped laughing, I suggested that he might not manage it,
especially on a knackered ZZR600, no heated anything and, frankly, no
fucking idea.

I did suggest that if he wants to do something that stupid he might be
better off joining Bonwick on his idiot run but he didn't seem too
interested. He also didn't seem to believe that Champ had done the JOL-
LE run faster than the SOB run in whichever mag it was a while back.

So, either of you want to goad him?

Yup. User is fat_brstd. I fear if he attempts his plan, he may actually
die. And if he's going to do that, he might as well at least do it in
the company of fellow idiots on the way to Germany.

 

Why the **** would we want him?

Let Champ play with him for a while then I might go and stick the
knife in and finish him off.

 

It was in Bike magazine, and I wrote the accompanying side-pieces (as
nicely requested by Simon Hargreaves), so why he doesn#t believe it I
don#t know.
