a mate has bought a yammie srv250 (q's)

    any tips, tricks or gotacha's he should be aware off

    i remember them being popular if expensive when they came out

    seems like a neat fun bike for a 250 - something different

    I think they're a grouse little bike, even if they don't
    go into neutral when they're warm and they vibe like buggers
    at about 4000.

    The exhaust has a couple of restrictors which you could stand
    to lose. You'd probably need to rejet though.

    The ex had one and I rode it a fair bit. Lovely little bike, one of the
    few 250's with that a little of that distinctive thing called character.

    The vibes on the over run down through 4000 made it feel like there was
    actually a motor underneath, and the thin rims and large wheels made it
    a really sweet handler.

    Not a lot of outright power, but what power it made was very usable.

    A goodun these....
