Where are the pictures of the ride and wreck scene?

    Hmm???

BTW, did anyone get that picture of Big Ed recreating the scene by
    laying in the ditch?

I guess we need to get a video camera out there and have Big Ed start
from the beginning and doing cartwheels and rolling around to show the
scene in it's entirety....then we can put it on YouTube!!!

Dude, was that Redshad over there in the distance peeing on the trees?

The things he'll do in a ditch....

BTW, this was the same location where Redshad swapped laundry in the
    ditch!

I've got a camera load of pre-wipeout pics I'll post and send the URL.

They'll be up in the next few days.

Hows your bike? Are they fixing it now or what? How long is it going
to be before you are back out and riding? We need to make a Mena run
as soon as it cools down a little. Ever been there?

Gonna go check on it today. It's at AM Eagle HD and the Ins co knows it's
there. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

My wife (and the rest of the family) seem to think I have bad karma in my
wallet in disguise as a license or insurance card and should give up
riding ("trying to ride" is their opinion)

First things first.. Get that nice Harley on the road again.. To make
    everyone
happy.. enroll in the nearest MSF course and take the advanced class..

In the meantime, if you want to ride a little bit, get in touch with me and
    we'll
get out and about a little bit..

That's pretty serious advice when someone starts telling people they should
or should not ride.. A lot depends on how serious you are about it and how
much you enjoy your motorcycle.. Don't let anyone get you down, and just
remember that you are the one that has to go home.. you live there..

That's pretty good advice. We might all need a refresher course.

I need to get someone in my house to enroll in the MSF course. I said
I'd take it with her (even though it's the basic) and go through it
too. She keeps saying she's worried about failing it, but I keep
telling her that it'd be me that would fail that basic course.

those refresher courses are mainly to learn how to ride slow around
the parking lot. I dont' see the need for BiilC. to enroll.

Bill C needs to sell that Harley and buy a Enduro with big knobby
    tires.

Thanks to all for the comments - even Redshad's. ;-)

FWIW - my wife, brother, sisters, friends at church and around the
neighborhood have been telling me I ought to give up riding since the
    early 90s.

I guess they don't like the fact that some of us still feel like "living"
    life.

Saw the bike today. There's about 8K of damage to it. I'm waiting to
hear from the insurance co but the guys at HD think they'll pay to rebuild
it - it's still new enough. That's good by me - buy a 5 year old bike,
wipe it out then end up with a 5 yr old bike with new sheet metal, lights,
front wheel, etc. But that was all in good shape anyway.

When we were riding the 18th I ended up hitting a massive pothole. The
wrenches were thinking that the pothole cause the front wheel to go out of
alighnment. Possible... that or the curb I hit.

I can appreciate the comments about the Advanced course. I've been
talking about it for a few years and it's about time I shut up or put up.

Another interesting note that came out of the dealer visit today...
AmEagle HD often will allow the bike owner to sign over the insurance
check and use the existing (wrecked) bike as a down payment / colateral on
teh purchase of a new bike. It's pretty smart marketing actually.

I was told that there's a standard 28 day wait on painted sheet metal.
Combine that with repair and test time means we're looking at about 5-6
weeks of "no bike for Bill" time. Kind of tough to take the advanced
course without a bike. Enter in HD marketing / sales to the rescue in
today's "I want it NOW" economy.

My daughter Julie (also a rider) heard that and I think her ears perked up
higher than mine. Walking out we just "happened" to notice a 2007
White Electraglide just sitting on the showroom floor. Hmmmmm... ;-)

Atta boy.. Keep those options open.. Don't get in a hurry.. Personally, I
hope you stay with the cruiser class of motorcycles.. Seems to me that
the kind of riding you enjoy, the cruiser is the most practical for you..

<grin> That's just my own opinion, don't bank on it..

    Regards, Bill C.

I don't know, I'm either leaning toward agreeing with Redshad and
going the dirtbike route with big assed knobby tires....or a sportbike
that handles well in curves.... :)

I would of thought those 15 flips had some effect, but I ain't a wrench.
