It had **** all to do with UKRM either and yet you still felt the need
to post- maybe you ought to consider refamiliarising yourself the
usenet definition of 'off topic' is before posting up any more shite
like this in here, eh... (1).

(1)... eh, calm down, calm down.

It had **** all to do with UKRM and yet for some reason only known to
yourself, not only did you decide to post it up in here, but you
didn't even bother to take it up as an issue directly with Steve first
either, did you - as I understand it, the first he knew about your
concerns regarding the conversation he'd had with your mate, were when
    you posted this thread up?

Not a good look really, is it.

Dog I'd forgotten Kira. She could flounce for England.

    Sorry for ruining your day.

    And interesting choice of words...
    Indeed... and then some.

If she is out there, you'll probably manage to flush her out if you
have a rant about how shite MZs are.

English could really do with a generic personal pronoun. How is one supposed
to know around here who's a he or a she? It's all so, well, flexible, innit.

'It'? Dog I'd forgotten Kira. It could flounce for England.

But it simply doesn't read well as Kira is a girly name, so I go for a
guess at the intended sex. Course it fails miserably for the guineas
because Andrea is a male name. Still, live and let live.

I think it's easy enough to use the gender appropriate to their chosen
name. If you want to continue using someone's old name as some sort of
gesture then you'd do the same with the personal pronoun. Therefore
Molly would always be 'she' although Alan would remain 'he'.

For example. It's not rocket science.

Words have gend... oh never mind. You know anyway.

Best leave it there then, as I don't believe it's possible to change one's
sex. Alan will always be Alan to me - I don't know any "Molly".
Neither is religion. Just as difficult to understand though.

    It already has one: 'he/him/his'.

    'everyone clapped his hands'
    'no one should kid himself...'

    And so on..

I had a surreal conversation with Sorby recently at a family gathering. It
was the first time we had met IRL. We were talking about the olden days on
UKRM. Some of the chat involved Dr Gower before & after the transgendering.
I was getting in a right muddle with the hes & shes that I resorted to
using Dr Gower. Sometimes having a gender neutral option makes conversation
    much simpler.

I haven't 'brought it back up' - the debate was still ongoing and
never mind that, it's a pretty relevant point that Nige didn't bother
to approach Steve about the matter before resorting to starting this
thread, methinks... as is the fact he didn't bother to mention this
    either at any point.

Rather proves my point, doesn't it.

Perhaps I should simply have referred to the source of the quotation -
    "To a Louse".
