Just watching Mark Evans on "A Bike is Born" restoring a 50yr old Harley
and it's very um... interesting. I mean where's the swearing, the seized
bolts, bodged bits of engine and all the other stuff which goes with
working on SOB's. Every bolt seems to come off with a mere twirl of
spanner, every screw perfect not a mashed head in sight.

It's not fair why isn't my SOB like that.Oh and his workshop is
    immaculately clean...

    It's all fake.
I watched him restore an old Triumph and it didn't leak oil afterwards,
that's how I know it's all computer animations.

Yes it did... I spotted a trail of oil or petrol leaking out onto the
ground on the closing shot of the last program, as he rode off.

  4. It was, however, a recently rebuilt H-D before he started work on it

And that was four months of work condensed into around three hours

I had a feeling it might have been.
Would have been better if they'd shown some of the blood, sweat and tears
involved in rebuilding bikes IMHO. I liked the E-Type and Cobra series
    mind.

Yeah, not much to it either from what I remember.
The helicopter was far more interesting.

Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Veggie Meldrew
The only disappointment in that series (for me) was that he didn't get
his PPL(H) and fly the bloody thing. Unsurprising, given the costs
involved, but I would have loved to see him up in it as P1.
