Mate, I'm not so sure - I didn't have to freeze in public in my underwear!

Eek, what a morning yours was - I think yours definitely beats mine - a
mouse languishing on a warm doona in the wee hours surely can't beat a
crazed kitten in a cold shed out there in the open!

I bow to your greater awfulness <grin>

But hey, bet you can't beat the happy ending to MY saga -

This arv I picked up my BRAND NEW bike!!!!!! Suzi SV650S, metallic grey.....
I am in lurve.... my first 'grown-up' bike...

betty, taking a flex on Friday
    and heading to Myrtleford
    for the weekend

Oh Clem, I was dead keen for the sexy red one - it's the one martyh
test-rode for me (thanks marty!) - BUT my buyer kept mucking me around, and
in the end I had to tell the seller I couldn't guarantee anything. Hate
stuffing ppl around like that, so in the end I just went with a local
    dealer.

Was a hard week between selling Gus and taking delivery of The Bomber
(so-called because it's a sexy Stealth Grey and looks like it would fly
    under the radar <snigger>)

    Stay tuned

betty, still too bloody excited to sleep!

Yep! Soon as I've had a good ride, and not just an adrenalin hit on the ride
home at night... it was lovely! Those cars that always sit next to me at the
lights and always drag me off somehow disappeared into the background
tonight - and I wasn't even trying! Gosh..... I think I will rooly LIKE this
bike. It feels kind and lovable but it acts bad!

Oh, this weekend is going to be fabularse!

  8. Cool, I'm sure you'll enjoy that toy.

On the bad luck stories, I was talking on email to a friend when I
typed my Tuesday freezing kitten story here and sent it to her. She
sent back the following, which I think beats us both:

Did i ever tell you about when i was house sitting my parents house??
Three weeks and EVERYTHING went wrong... not even kidding. First day
they left, the washing machine broke... three weeks to go.... Then the
set top box broke... Had to get repair done. Both my laptop chargers
stopped working meaning no computer for three wks. As I was telling
someone about all of these shitty little things that we happening - my
key broke in the door!! Luckily I was able to pull it out..... thought
my bad luck had run out?! Made a quick dash to the video store. When I
got home I got out of the car as did my sister... and I'd locked my
keys in the car... Spares are inside but my house keys are broken...
and my sisters are locked in the car... I dont have any credit on my
mobile, my sister doesnt even haven hers... My neighbours lend us a
coat hanger... took us about two hours to get in and we finally made a
device to wind the window down - I used a large bud off a tree....
    WTF!
My car's sun visor also snapped and my car started leaking petrol....

There is an aus.moto relevance here. Said parents she refers to work
with Smack as does she :)

    ROTFLMAO !

(And the SV1000 is a 90 degree twin too)

If you want to compare with Italians, maybe Aprilia is
    <snort> That'd be the Aprilia 60 degree motor you're referring to ?
Or were you only meaning the Shiver ?

Might want to stop listening through that Italian flag.

For what it's worth the TRX (parallel twin with a 270dgree crank)
sounds more like that classic 80's Duc sound than my current Italian
bike with a 90 degree watercooled twin does.

Similar to the Cagiva Raptor too.

Well actually the Raptor is closer to the Duc beeing a 998cc 90 degree
    twin rather than a 999cc 60 degree twin :)

Strangely enough it's also bloody like the SV1000 too :)

  14. Well done on the bike. I've ridden the 650 and the 1000 and both are lovely
    bikes.

Love the overun on the XTZ with that motor in it. One of the BEST
    bike sounds out there.

Yeah the XTZ had a good sound but it's not quite the same motor. Close
kin though. Interstingly Al's TDM with the exact same motor but
different exhaust sounded quite noticeably different. TDM had a cross
over "pipe" joining the two which made it sound different

Ahhh fercrisakes - this is usenet don't you know you're supposed to keep
vociferously arguing an untenable and inaccurate position - you can't
just go saying - oops I was wrong ! What's the world coming to ! :)

(off the top of my head the soon to be retired Aprilia / Rotax 1000 is
the only modern 60deg twin around can't think of any others)
